
Trials Of The Gods
Trials Of The Gods is a dynamic action-adventure RPG where the player takes on the role of the sole human participant in the divine challenges known as 'The Trials.' The core objective is to prove their worth by mastering three distinct, elementally-themed biomes: the Moonlight Willows, The Frozen North, and The Fire Pit. Gameplay is focused on exploration and combat, where the player uses a variety of weapons and newly acquired spells to defeat themed enemies like wolves and golems. Within each area, the player must gather resources to unlock the boss portal and capture a soul crystal from a defeated colossal statue. Between trials, the central Sanctuary of Artemis provides upgrades and crafting, ultimately leading to a final challenge once all three souls are collected.
Personally i worked on enemy AI, Boss fights, in-depth quest system and various UI aspects. The AI had layered in-depth behaviours such as wolves had "pack tactics" this meant they moved in packs and had an "alpha" leader, upon seeing the player a wolf would howl signaling to the rest of the pack their location and the rest would rally together at that point. Boss fights were multi-staged and souls like varying in strategy and mechanic per boss. The quest system was modular and highly dynamic meaning you could enter variables into a data table and the quest was made. Quest types inculded gather targets, kill targets, location targets, interact with targets.
During this time i was able to work in a group dynamic delagating roles and work on tight schedules. This project utalised mainly blueprints with minimal C++.
